Another Random Post

• The best thing about this frigid weather is ice.  Our kids have been enjoying ice skating on the neighbor's pond.  I love that they are getting outdoors and exercise.  They love that they are learning to skate better and get to play hockey!
• We are still messing around with the sore throat/cold/fever/snot thing around here.  I have 2 on antibiotics.  1 that we are trying to just ride it out (not as miserable as the ones I took for antibiotics) and 1 that just started complaining of a sore throat today.  Several of these were sick about 3 weeks ago...so I guess this is a new thing...
• I'm still enjoying experimenting with essential oils.  Because of the FDA rules, I really can't publicly say much about them.  But I'd be happy to talk about my experiences with you if you're interested.  And if you decide you want to sign up...sign up under me.  :-)
• I'm reading "The Circle Maker" by Mark Batterson as well as continuing to read through my collection of Agatha Christie books.
• Micah continues to have speech therapy most weeks.
• Mark continues to have occupational and physical therapies every other week in addition to the therapies he gets at school.
• I'm studying the book of Genesis (Bible - NIV 1984) right now.  Considering that dysfunctional families seem to be the norm since the very first family, I'm finding encouragement in the knowledge that God works in us despite our sins and failures. 
• Josiah & Autumn have their first Bible Quizzing event this weekend.  Randy & I are helping to coach their team this year.
• We are considering options for another summer road trip.  We've really enjoyed our trips the past 3 years.

And....

...we're back to our regularly scheduled routine.  Christmas break is over.  School has resumed.  One big change:  Mark has switched to the Life Skills class at our school.  Kindergarten was just to much for him.  We feel he will really benefit from this small class...2 teachers, 5 students, and some volunteer assistants.  We're still waiting to hear from Kennedy-Kreiger about the evaluation we requested from them.  They had said they'd call to schedule in about 3 months, so I'm hoping to hear from them by February.

We've been having various illnesses around here.  Fevers, Sore Throats, Headaches.  My kids who've been willing to try essential oils (in conjunction with their familiar chewable ibuprofen) seem to have fewer symptoms and recover quicker than the ones who want nothing to do with them.  Interesting.

It is rather frigid around here...although Randy's in the Midwest and it's even more frigid there!  I just realized that I never uploaded my Christmas photos...there's only a few this year, I wasn't really taking many pictures.

Today Josiah, Micah, and I ran errands.  We also stopped in to see our newest niece (and cousin).  Adorable!  :-)

We sang this song in worship at church this morning.  It really meant a lot to me.  We've had a good 2 weeks of school vacation.  But we've had some challenging times as well.  Always good to be reminded that there's a better world coming some day...
