Catch-up #1
Wow...not sure if anyone still reads this...but I just realized that I haven't blogged since May!
Summer is now in full swing. On the last day of school we picked up the kids and headed west to enjoy camping for the long (memorial day) weekend at Laurel Hills State Park. We spent a day at Ohiopyle State Park as well.
In June we enjoyed a long weekend at Woodcrest Retreat with our church family in June. We went up a few days early and enjoyed a day of spending some time (in the rain, as seems to be our pattern) at various waterfalls in northeastern Pennsylvania--Bushkill Falls, Raymondskill Falls, and other falls in the area. I forgot my camera...
Also in June I spent a long weekend away with a few friends in upstate New York at a lovely, relaxing lakeside cabin. I enjoyed good food and time with other adoptive moms of large families. We enjoyed a bit of shopping in a local town and a delicious dinner at a local restaurant. I got some time to work on some of the things I want to do for next year's homeschool year.
We also were involved with the annual Transport for Christ Truck Rally. Lots of fun as normal.
Adjusting to the summer schedule has been challenging for some of our children. The one area that I have figured out a solution for (at least for the moment...all things are subject to change!) is bedtime. The boys have started listening to Audiobooks. They listened to the story of Milton Hershey (especially fun as that's fairly local). Now they are listening to the story of George Washington Carver.
