September continued....

Another busy week for this household.  I am longing for a week with just our minimal, basic stuff.  I guess I'm glad that some of these things are getting accomplished as well...but I will be glad to get to October.  :-)

My week in random order:

• Clean a vacation rental (no, not ours)
• Take Micah to the doctor/x-rays
• Coffee & Play Group
• Take Josiah to get his retainers
• Pick up copy of x-rays for orthopedic doctor
• Take Mark for Physical Therapy
• Take Micah to the Orthopedic Doctor
• Get Stain at the Paint Store
• Homeschool Co-op
• Family-Based Therapy
• Field Trip
• Visit newest nephew
• Assorted other errands
• Start watching "Sense and Sensibility" (short version) again.  (My kids tolerate watching this and similar things...I appreciate the calming music...so sometimes if they lobby to watch a movie at night, I have them watch something like this.  :-) )
• Renewal Services at church
• Autumn has a class party after school one day
• Ephrata Fair/Tent City???
• Violin Lesson (Autumn)
• And last but not least, Mark celebrates a birthday this week!

As mentioned in the list, Micah did manage to break a bone in his foot this week...so that added some additional appointments.  He is doing much better today than last week.

I neglected to mention that this past weekend Randy and Josiah rode in the BR2RB ride to benefit Black Rock Retreat.  If you have facebook, search for "Black Rock Retreat".  There are a bunch of photos there and you may just spot one of my guys!

Time marches on...

The nights are getting cooler.  It stays dark later in the morning and gets dark earlier in the evening.  There are lovely sunsets and sunrises.  The mums are gorgeous.  The corn is coming down out of the fields.

We have been busy with appointments so I'm still waiting to get into my "Now that the kids are in school" schedule.

We continue to work with a Family-Based Therapy Team once a week...or perhaps I should say "I".  They are working more with me than anyone...basically training me to be a therapeutic parent...I do appreciate all of their help!

Mark has therapy once a week, alternating Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy.

Autumn got braces on her teeth this week.

Josiah continues with working, homeschooling, and homeschool co-op.

Zach has now started to have a bit of homework and so far he is not bulking to much at doing it!

A kitty died this week.  :-(  One of the realities of having animals is dealing with life and death.

We got a new batch of broilers (chickens that are raised for meat).  We are hoping they are ready be mid-November.

This week marks 6 years since Zach and Mark became permanent members of our family.

Randy and Josiah are doing the BR2RB Bike Ride to support Black Rock Retreat this weekend.

Finally Complete!

Many years ago, I made Josiah an afghan.  Then Autumn.  Then Janae.  The the boys joined our family in more rapid succession than the first 3 kids.  I think it took about 3 or 4 years to complete Zachary's afghan.  And now, after several more years...Mark's afghan is finally complete!  One more to go....

A Week into September...

...the leaves are just starting to turn on the mountain.  The corn is coming down and I can see farther out my windows again.  And we are slowly settling into the school year routine.  I am enjoying having the house a bit neater...at least some of the time.

Today was a momentous occasion.  The orthodontist removed Josiah's braces.  He will get a retainer in a couple of weeks.  Autumn is just starting this adventure.  She got spacers today and will get braces next week.

Sometime I need to get apples and make applesauce.

The kids seem to be settled into school.

I've been reading assorted books..."Kinship Concealed", "The DNA of Relationships", "Attachment Parenting"...and assorted fiction novels as well.

Last week we watched the short version of "Pride and Prejudice".  It just left us wishing for the longer version.  So this week we are watching the 1995 version of "Pride and Prejudice".  And yes, I find it fun that my kids like it.  :-)
